Virtual Card Detection
----------------------
An hardware bug inside Dreambox 7000s prevents hardware card detection
from working correctly. To fix this situation a reistor is need inside
the motherboard and a fixed sci_drv. Not many people already did this
modification so we decided to implement a virtual card detection system.
After an incorrect read or write of an INS, we get again the ATR if
something has changed we init the smartcard again. This method is actually
little rude and got of course some problems. Anyway i think it's the only
possible solution if the hardware is not fixed.

Daemon Mode
-----------
Xcam works only in pure daemon mode. The xcamd is run at system startup
and never dies. Channel change is detected using the Fast PMT monitor,
so this also means that the Fast PMT patch is needed for enigma. There is
no way to make run Xcam without Fast PMT patch. To check weather your
enigma has this patch or not, see if file /var/tmp/pmt.tmp is present.

Startup Time
------------
Card records are read at xcam startup. With some crypto system,
like Viaccess, the initial record lookup takes some time. Also with
unofficial smartcards having many providers it could take from 3 to 10
seconds. If you don't use any card into the card reader slot, disable it
from config file (see Configuration section). It will speed up startup.

Nagra crypto system
-------------------
I want to reserve some special words about Nagra. I fully respect this
system due to the advanced nature and innovation. The emulation system
(originally developed by josillo) toke some time of work and fixing,
i've tried to make the emulation fully and advanced to respect the
Nagra coders. For this reason the emulators does:
- Full emulation of ST16 and ST19 microprocessor (rom3, rom7, rom10, rom11).
- Emulation of advanced function like RNG.
- Update of eeprom files to new revisions.
- Full compatibility with any provider independently from used eeproms.
- Check for eeprom write in OTP zone.

Files
-----
Only xcamd.config configuration file must have a fixed path
(/var/etc/xcamd.conf).You can put other files everywere (some of
them needs write permission) changing configuration file.
In the archive files are in default directories, starting from /var/
(bin/ -> /var/bin/ , roms/ -> /var/roms/ ...).

Configuration
-------------
You can edit file /var/etc/xcamd.conf for your needs. The file is well
commented and self explaining. Xcam need to be restarted if changes
are made. The config file is provided for common use values (default).
NOTE: It must be edited with a unix compatible editor!!

Issues
------
Some au may not work in emulation. Needed feedback.

Schijnt een vrij stabiele image te zijn en een zeer snelle zapper.
Maar alleen komen er de laatste weken wat veel images uit met allemaal andere namen. Zouden er dan zoveel mensen zijn die zich bezig houden met Linux??

Nja.. was het maar zo, maar ik ben helaas maar een globale, geen diepgaande, zou best graag kunnen programmeren.
 
Als ik meer tijd had zou ik me meer in Linux verdiepen.... maar ja tijd.....

PS BT ik had het probleem met de motor al uitgevogeld dus ik heb geen gebruik hoeven maken van je hulplijn! Thanx Anyway

Ah geweldig. Overigens heb ik ergens een kastje gezien bij een kennis, dat bleek een positioner te zijn die gebruikte hij met de Dreambox, maar dat kreng was dus net iets groter als een wekkerradio, dat zou ik wel willen hebben.
Dan kan die echostar hier de deur uit en heb ik weer plaats voor de videorecorder.:)

aan de dream om te draaien
maar ik heb begrepen dat die vbox alleen maar draait en geen lnb kan besturen
das jammer want ik heb een draaibare schotel met een coroter

heeft iemand een idee wat ik dan kan gebruiken

Wat is een corotor?

Is er ook een verschil tussen Vbox en Vbox2?
Zelf heb ik een diseqc tussen mijn 4 schotels hangen.
De draaibare zit op diseqc 1, da's het gemakkelijkst, de andere schotels op 2, 3 en 4.

Maar nu valt me weer iets anders in. Die Vbox kan dus zo'n jaeger staafmotor (needs 36 volt) besturen, maar kun je die op een diseqc hangen of moet die weer rechtstreeks op de lnb gekoppeld worden?

Op een corotor kun je een c-band en ku-band lnb monteren. Om schakeling van polarisatie gebeurt via een servo motortje welke je aansluit op skew uitgang van de ontvanger (zit niet op dreambox en vbox).

verschil vbox 1 en 2 geen iedee

Het is mogelijk om zowel een vbox als een diseqc schakelaar te gebruiken op de dreambox. Je moet dan gebruik maken van de non-standaart interface in het lnb menu van de dreambox
 
Ooohhh.. zo'n ding is dat, ja heb ik wel eens gezien, bij Noord geloof ik in de tuin.
Leuke dingen maarja, het analoge tijdperk had wat langer moeten duren was leuk geweest, dan had ik waarschijnlijk ook nog wel iets voor c-band opgezet. Op mijn Strong MKII analoge ontvanger zit namelijk wel nog die skew optie enzo.:)
