dreambox 5600s

Please can anyone help with dreambox 5600s which i do not know much about
got 999 on front and when i try to get it going by pressing the "dream button" on the remote nothing happens
I would be very greatful for any help

Have you pulled out the power plug for a while? It might do something.

I don't know exactly, but I thought there is a RS232 port on it. There can you connect a cable to, and have the console session. It should be the way to get into the Dream again.

At the Sjerom site is some (English) info for the 5600 too. Do a search for 5600, and you get some tools, and a nice image to put in your receiver. Then reboot, and look if anything helped.

If not? Maybe something is done wrong, or your Dream has died... (Then go back to the shop, I think.)
