New AutoEmu : decodes everything

This is an open letter for all image creators out there. If you know any of them, please forward them this message.

There are so many emularors out there, each time we switch channel we need to switch emu. Some images don't have the correct emu's etc. This is all very hard to keep up with.

However, there is a sollution that you could build into your image. It's called AutoEmu.
This is the principle, you'll have to write it, I'm no programmer.

In /var/keys there is a new file called AutoEmu.conf
This file has the following data

Sat Position
Package
EmuSelection

e.g.
#This is the AutoEmu.conf file
#Emulators are defined by numbers
# Radegast = 1
# Ucas (scam) = 2
# Gbox = 3
# etc
Sat 19.2
Canal+
1
Sat 13.0
TPS
3
Sat -1.0
Canal+
1


And so on.
We know what channels are best decoded by what emu. This would take away the guesswork and simplify life for everybody.

This should be easy to implement.

What do you think ? Good idea ? Bad idea ?

Good idea to make one universal file, which contains data like which emu for which provider/service. Let's do it in XML!

Blijkbaar zijn er mensen die zich geroepen voelen om te reageren zonder dat ze goed Engels kunnen lezen ... want ik denk niet dat hij het opzet heeft begrepen ....

Ik kan maar hopen dat dit bericht (die op verschillende boards werd gezet) toch op ??n of andere manier bij de makers van de images is terecht gekomen. Dit is niet bedoeld voor de makers van de emu's ... laat die maar rustig verder doen zoals ze bezig zijn.

Als er ??n image maker (Ronaldd lees jij mee ?) het initiatief neemt om zo'n ini of xml file te maken dan zal de rest wel volgen. En het kan best zijn dat er inmiddels emu's zijn die zowat alles kunnen openen, er zijn altijd situaties waarom iemand voor een bepaalde zender of boeket toch liever een andere emu neemt.
