Hoi allemaal!
Als ik Windows Media Player 11 opstart krijg ik als eerste de volgende melding:
"Windows Media Player is niet correct gesloten. Het probleem is mogelijk veroorzaakt door een beschadigde of niet-compatibele invoegtoepassing. Uit voorzorg zijn alle optionele invoegtoepassingen uitgeschakeld."
Voor de volledigheid eerst even mijn gegevens: Win XP home, versie 2002, ServicePack 3, Internet Explorer 8.
Ik krijg ook vaak de volgende melding:
PROBLEEM VEROORZAAKT DOOR DEVICE DRIVER.
U hebt dit bericht ontvangen omdat een apparaatstuurprogramma op uw computer heeft veroorzaakt dat het besturingssysteem van Windows ineens niet meer werkt. Dit fouttype wordt een "stopfout" genoemd. Als een stopfout zich voordoet, moet de computer opnieuw worden opgestart.

Als ik daar op klik krijg ik de volgende tekst:
You've encountered error message COODOFD6 while using Windows Media Player. The following information might help you troubleshoot the issue.
DAMAGED OR INCOMPATIBLE PLUG-IN
Windows Media Player was not closed properly. A damaged or incompatible plug-in might have caused the problem to occur. As a precaution, all optional plug-ins have been disabled.
If you enable optional plug-ins and the Player continues to close unexpectedly, it is recommended that you identify the damaged or incompatible plug-in and remove it.
TO TROUBLESHOOT PLUG-INS (BASIC)
1. Click the TOOLS menu, point to PLUG-INS, and then click each plug-in that has a check mark next to its name.
This disables all optional plug-ins. If the TOOLS menue is not visible, press CTRL+M to display the Classic Menus.
2. Click the TOOLS menu, point to PLUG-INS, and then select one of the plug-ins.
This enables the plug-in.
3. Play the same content that you were playing when the Player closed unexpectedly.
4. Do one of the following:
- If the Player closes unexpectedly, click the TOOLS menu, click OPTIONS and the click the PLUG-INS tab.
Select the plug-in that you last enabled, and the click REMOVE.
- If the Player does not close unexpectedly, enable another plug-in and repeat Steps 3 and 4 until you identify the damaged or incompatible plug-in.
en daaronder staan er nog veel meer raadgevingen.
Mijn Engels is redelijk, ik weet dat TOOLS extra is (en OPTIONS opties uiteraard)
Maar ik kan geen Opties vinden onder extra (behalve internetopties) en PLUG-INS kan ik ook niet vinden.
Wie weet raad svp? Mijn dank is groot!
DE OORZAAK VAN DIT ALLES:
Ik had de videoclip "Boom boom pow" van Black eyed peas gisteren via mijn stand-alone brander (Sony) op een DVD+RW gebrand en ik wilde dit vanochtend copieeren op een SD geheugenkaartje -vanuit de map video_TS.IFO-, ik kon m copieeren maar niet afspelen vanaf dat geheugenkaartje, toen heb ik dat bestand maar weer van dat geheugenkaartje verwijderd.
Daarna is bovengenoemde ellende begonnen.

P.S. Ik heb ook "Systeemherstel" uitgevoerd naar een eerdere datum, niks helpt.
