Hi..
Illegal Cyfra+ cards reactivation in Seca2
Day after day new information about break of Seca 2 encryption appears on the market. Most likely, the old Cyfra+ card can be illegal reactivated for Seca 2, full Platinum package of Polish Cyfra+. The lower number of old card, the easier illegal reactivation for Platinum package. It looks like, Polish Cyfra+ has the problem with piracy again.
If the information about old Cyfra+ cards pirate reactivation are truth, Polish digital package will have a problem with this new, extremely good secured SECA2 encryption. The package management will have to consider to change its expectations of subscriber`s increase in this year. Most likely, Cyfra+ will stop groundless cards exchange, and it will categorically demand the old, not active cards return.
Pirate activation of Cyfra cards is only one from this package threats. The package could fully disregard smartcard splitters, however pirate reactivation or emulation and free viewing Cyfra+ or other packages channels (Cyfrowy Polsat, Sky Italia or Digital+) on its own terminals is huge danger.
This might be some kind of punishment for equipment unsensibly give away. The package has choose to force thousand of terminals, dishes and LNBs free on the market instead of investments in the programming and distribution of the cards only. The free dishes and LNBs will be now used for FTA channels reception, is it what Cyfra+ wanted?
Cyfra+ could not care less for its own channels production. The only good example are Minimax, Minimini or Ale Kino channels. However package could create much more interesting channels: ?apu Capu TV, or movies channels Canal+ Film 2 - 16:9 broadcast in Dolby Digital. The all satellite receivers, ever FTA have Dolby Digital slot, but because Cyfra+ terminals does not have AC3, therefore HBO, or non from Canal+ Multiplex channels broadcasts digital audio ? it is the time to change it.
What will Cyfra+ do?
Will it react on technical and programming demand on the market. Will it change strategy on the market and become customer friendly? Will it stop to frighten its subscribers by vindication companies?
Will it change Seca-MediaGuard encryption, or it will cure it?
Will it withdraw from the market Pioneer terminals, which are patched.
It looks like Cyfra+ situation is very difficult.
