Hello,

I have the vlc pulgin installed in my dreambox and i can see the channels via the local network but not via the internet. i have forwarded the port 82 where the server is listening to the local ip in the router but it is not working.
is there any other port that need to be forwarded as well to get it to work ? i saw somewhere on the internet something about port 5554.
or is it maybe something else, ?? all i got when i click vlc is the icon with the logo of vlc but nothing else.

cheers

david

You need to install vlc at your pc and let the dreambox stream it to your pc. At your pc you compress the stream to 80 kb/s or something like that.

From there you can stream it to internet.

If you want to stream it without compressing you need a "big" internet connection, like 5 mbit upstream ;)

Hola,

I cannot find the option for output compression within VLC. Do i need to that via CLI ???
i would like to comment you that i can only see like 5% of the channels, do you have an idea why it could be ?

thanks :)
