How To Edit your PMC Table
By MrDude
OK before we begin, the information here may not be 100% accurate - However after reading this you should be able to pick up the basics on how to edit a pmc table using pmc tool and know what the numbers in the pmc tool actually mean.
So what is a PMC table anyway ?
and more to the point - why would you want to edit one?
PMT - Program\Provider Map Table
PMCT - Program\Provider Map Controller Table
Ok I will put this in the layman's terms so you can understand - When you tuned your humax into a certain frequency and picked up your channel - that signal you picked up is split into different parts (Streams):
These parts are as follows ?
? Picture (Mpeg 2 video stream),
? Audio (Mpeg2 or Ac3 stream),
? Teletext,
? Subtitles
? and some other stuff we are not concerned about for this tutorial.
Now say a certain channel is broadcasting for seca2 (Seca Mediagaurd) with two audio and video streams and also NDS (videogaurd). We don't need the extra streams to watch our channels but we need to have the correct ones to get the picture clearing on our TV's, so we sometimes need to force the humax to use the correct audio and video streams (Because the humax just uses the first ones it comes across) - which we shall now refer to as ECM pids.
We can find out what streams our selected channel is broadcasting in by using the Toh parser mode - and by doing this find all the correct into that we need for to use in our pmc table that we can create with pmc tool:
I am going to use Prima fila 1 as an example for this tutorial, but all channels are the same.
Ok get you humax remote and press 'Menu' - Select 'TOH' then parser and press 'OK' on the remote, we will the have the option of selecting 'CAT' or 'PMT' - Select 'PMT'
Take note that the service ID = 3941 and that on the left is the hex value we need for our pmc table which = 0F65
(3941 and 0F65 are the exact same - 0F65 is the equivalent in hex as the decimal number 3941 - use the calculator below to test if you want)
Take a look below at a typical pmc table:
The Pmc Table
Ok look at the above highlighted line in the picture, this is pmc tool with a pmc table loaded into it, I have selected the prima file 1 channel from the seca2 provider 70 which is using antenna 2(hotbird) serv id(channel) 0F65 and Audio+Video ecm pids 04B3.
What the numbers mean:
Ant-ID ?
This number 0002 relates to the antenna that prima file is using - (Hot bird in this case). You should know what antenna positions you have stored each channel on. If not, make sure your humax is NOT in macro mode - then press the '?' key on your remote control. Just above '0100 -scrambled' you will see 'Ant2' (If you have the humax on prima fila 1) this means the channel you are watching is using antenna 2 and that should be the number you enter into the Ant-id box.
Notice that it says Ant2 just above 0100(CAID) - this is the first number for our pmc table. Notice also that we are currently using ECMPID 04B3 for channel 3941 on provider 70 - this is because my humax has had the pmc table applied already.
Serv-ID or (Chan-ID) ?
This is the hexadecimal number you enter for the channel you wish to enter into the table (3941 Decimal is equivalent to the Hex number F65). We can use the Toh Parser to find this number by putting the humax on the channel we want to decrypt by starting the parser then selecting PMT. Then look at the third line down on the left is the hex value we need and on the right is the same number but in decimal instead of hex.
CA-ID - ( Number 1 in the pmt table picture below)
Ok Use the table below to figure out the number to enter into this box - prima fila 1 is a seca provider channel - therefore we enter 0100 in this box.
Humax IRCI-5400/Z CAID
0B00 Conax
0D00 Cryptoworks
0100 Seca/ Mediaguard
0500 Viaccess/ TPS Crypt
0602 Irdeto
0604 Irdeto II (Nova/Zee TV)
0606 Irdeto II (Sex View/SCT)
1702 BetaCrypt (Premiere - sat)
1722 BetaCrypt (Premiere - Mediavision - kabel)
1762 BetaCrypt (ORF - Premiere)
1800 Nagravision
1801 Nagravision (Premiere)
4A60 Sky Crypt
4A70 DreamCrypt
ID/ECM ?
This is the magic number that seems to cause the problems with the humax, some providers send more than one ECM PID - however the humax defaults to the first ECM PID it encounters for the provider we are wishing to watch, so we need to force the humax to use second or third one sometimes if we want the channels to decrypt properly - the entry entered in this box is enough to force the Humax to work properly - therefore decrypting out channel properly. To find out what ECM Pids the channel provider is broadcasting we use the toh parser to check for hex values.
Notice - that Seca mediagaurd has two entries - 04B2 (2)and 04B3 (4), well it just so happens that the humax will default to 04B2 because it is a lower number, we need to force the humax to use 04B3 because this is the only one that works for us - hence making the pmc table entry in the first place.
EXT/ID ?
This is the actually provider id - Sky Italia uses provider 70 and prima file 1 is a channel provided by sky italia - that's why we enter 70 in this box.
Look at number 3 in the picture above to find this number - notice that it is 0070
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK great we know what all the numbers actually mean now, but before we upload the new table to our Humax, we can test first to make sure we are using the correct ecm pids.
This can be done via the humax remote control by doing the following:
Press :-
? Menu
? Toh
? EPG
? Pmct
? and use the cursor keys to scroll down the page.
If you have a previous entry for prima fila 1 you can just change the ecm indent to one of the numbers you gained from above (1 or 2 for example from the above picture), if not you can make a new entry using all the numbers you acquired - except that instead of using hex for the Serv Id - we use the decimal number:
Example - prima fila 1 would look like this:
Ant-Id = 2
Serv-Id = 3941
Ca-ID = 0100
ECM-Ident = 04B3
IdentExt = 0070
To = 0
AutoPid = A+Vpid
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK as stated above this tutorial may not be the best in the world or 100% accurate - However you will at least probably be able to edit your own pmc table in future - which is really all you need to be able to learn from this.
All pictures etc are property of MrDude - if you want to put this on your site please feel free - However please include me in your credits. IE, don't delete my name.

Er zitten ook nog plaatjes bij, maar dat lukt me niet om ze mee te sturen.
