After reading many of the post?s there seems to be a hell of lot of confusion regarding the change over from Betacrypt to Nagra.
The main one is "they cant have changed I am receiving all the Premiere channels with this set of files, on my receiver, etc etc.
Most of the new members to our hobby just down load the new files and see all the channels working and cant understand the many posts like mine reporting the turn-off of Betacrypt!
I will try and explain in very simple terms and not go into any technical "hows and ways" (please excuse any wrong technical terms...I?m trying to keep this very easy to understand)
The Premiere package has always transmitted two set?s ID/Keys for its encryption system, one for "satellite reception" and one for the German Cable Networks. Now this is where most people are getting confused:
All the Satellite ID/Keys have now been turned off in other words they DO NOT transmit in the "Betacrypt" system anymore so just forget it, its gone to the great encryption cemertry........ its finished!!!!!!!
The Cable ID/keys are at present (but not for long) still being transmitted in Betacrypt, the great "file guys" (thank?s to all of them, they do a great job) have changed their files accordingly, so what all you blokes are getting at present are the ID/Keys that are ment for the cable networks!!
The next problem is some receivers/cam set-ups will work with the new files and some wont!!!! Some might be lucky some wont.
I surgest you perhaps use the "search function" to find out more there has been many posts on this subject.
I hope everybody now understands whats going on...........if you have any more questions please post here and myself or someone else I am sure will help you if we can.
By the way the Cable ID/Keys are due to be turned off the end of or the begining of next week and Premiere will only be available in the Nagra/Aladin encryption system.
Best Regards, As Always, Aussie
