First of all u need two files, fbprg16.exe & fbprg16.cfg.
Second you need the atmel programmer. Schematics for it can be found on
irc. #dsselectronics or #projects. Get file called mikobu2.zip
it contains unlooper plans and atmel programmer schematics.
run the fbprg16.exe file and go into setup (K). set all options to yes and make
sure chip selected is atmel at90s2313. Next from main menu set reset to high.
Now the proper steps. You should have two files. wtflash.hex and wteep.hex. the
eep file refers to erasable erpom. Now choose option A load flash file. type in
path and file name. (example c:\wt1\wtflash.hex)
press enter. You will see code scroll on screen and then press any key to
continue. Press any key. This will take you back to main menu. Select option B
load eeprom file. type in path and file name. (example c:\wt1\wteep.hex) and
press enter. you will see this code scroll on screen. press any key to
continue. You return to main menu. Now press E program . You will see ERASING
FLASH AND EPROM, NEXT PROGRAMMING FLASH, NEXT PROGRAMMING EPROM, NEXT
VERIFIYING FLASH, NEXT VERIFIYING EPROM, NEXT SET LOCK BITS ONE, SET LOCK
BITS TWO.
Your done.
repeat process for reprogramming chip or doing new one.
now quick explanation.
what are lock bits. lock bits protect flash and eprom from being read. this is
how the code in chip is protected from leechers. Yes you can reuse the chip it
only prevents reading.. you can erase chip and use again.
*** warning if you use the steps above you shouldnt have any problems.
if you get low byte error you need to check programmer something wrong with it
or chip. Use settings above to prevent programming either flash or eprom and
erasing other. Hope this helps.
